Why do some people “hate” Charlie Sheen

This is my personal opinion but I find it disgusting how many people now dismiss Charlie Sheen as a joke and trying to diminish his accomplishments by comparing him to Snookie and reality TV show stars.

First Charlie Sheen is a damn good award winning actor, who has a career spanning 3 decades now. As proof, I suggest you watch Platoon, Wall Street, Hot Shots, and Major League-all classics that show an amazing acting range. It is a false equivalency to say he is the equivalent in importance to snookie, or other nobodies who are cashing in on their 15 minutes of fame for dubious accomplishments.

He is a real star, not a reality show contestant!

Its funny that so many people see such a good actor behave a little manic and try to beat him down so he is less of a person. Why do people drag others down just for the heck of it. Charlie Sheen deserves respect (a lot of it) because he is truly someone who made a difference in life (even if its just for his great portrayal of greed run amok in Wall Street, the horrors of the Vietnam War in Platoon, or wonderful parodies of the Top Gun and baseball movies.) That is natural talent and and a positive legacy that we should remember long after the catch phrases and inteviews with 20/20!

The real tragedy is the legacy this will leave on a stellar actor that is far better than many of the “stars” and celebrities critics are now comparing him too. By disparaging him as a famous for doing nothing “celebrity” is just mean, nasty and petty.

If this editorial ever spreads I would like to say Charlie Sheen deserves a lot better than how the “haters” are treating him! I hope he finds peace and regains his rightful place as a real star of screen and TV.

Why California cannot get out of their fiscal hole...

The state of California has a governor whose balls seem to have fallen off-although to be fair after year of rampant steroid use they were probably non existent when he first took office, lol

Republicans in California "holding just 29 of 80 Assembly seats and 15 of 40 state Senate seats[...] have great power even though they are a distinct and declining minority in a heavily blue state. Why? Because of the two-thirds vote rule, GOP legislators can be pure to their principles. Living in a Proposition 13 world, the state Republican Party has little incentive to reach out to the moderates necessary to win a majority in the state house."

This explains why California government is so dysfunctional it cannot pass a budget. Arnold for all his bluster is really a "girlie man" (the term Dana Carvey coined in SNL parodies.) Too afraid to challenge a (hopefully) soon to be extinct minority of partisan hacks.  He is neither tough (like his carefully constructed movie image) or a person who can get things done-the two claims he made against Gray Davis during the recall drive.
So what is the difference between the two? About 18 billion dollars-the amount Arnold added to the California deficit (Source: http://www.time.com/time/nation/article/0,8599,1907506,00.html)

He is in every sense of the word a "girlie man"  A pretend action star who believed his hype. It is a shame that a recall put a B-grade action star into the governors house. It is a greater shame that the state now has to rely on a pathetic 60 year old man with no balls,  growing man boobies and a botched botox job. He still has tons of one liners but California deserves more then that. How sad.

Another political post. sorry about that-I just had to get it off my chest.

Not your typical Start Up

Why am I here?

I came to Mountain View, CA to assist my web 2.0 start up Myabuy.com.

Many assume web start ups are funded by big venture capitalists who throw millions of dollars at companies that may or may not succeed.

This is not why I came though. While it would be nice to have millions of dollars thrown my way by Venture Capitalists, I have never sought Venture Capital help with this atypical web start up.

The Millions of dollars the lucky, very few start ups receive come with a Catch-22. Your start up is not entirely yours anymore. In many cases you go from being the majority shareholder(s) to minority shareholders who may be seen as expendable.

Many friends assume I came to Mountain View, California to seek Venture Capital funding but that is not the case. I came to an area that I had only been to once before to immerse myself in Silicon Valley culture, make connections and learn from entrepreneurs who had "been there and done that."

I want my start up to be a success, and unlike some of the more stubborn entrepreneurs out there, I know I still have a lot to learn. Money and Venture Capital funding comes and goes but accurate business insights last forever.

That is why myabuy.com and the company I founded Myabuy, LLC is an atypical start up.  I did come to Silicon Valley to make my fortune but more importantly I want myabuy.com to make it's mark on popular culture. To create a site that has a positive lasting legacy in the minds of Internet users worldwide.
